Alaskan Grizzly, much too close
I saw this wild bear approaching the river to fish for salmon on a small road. I positioned myself behind a tree to prepare for a photo when a truck approached and scared the bear. It ran from the truck but inadvertently was heading right for my tree. No safe place to go, so I just started shooting and got this wonderful shot as the bear ran past me and we locked eyes for a split second. Lucky me since the bear was only trying to get out of the way of the truck. When the salmon are running, the bears are not too interested in humans If you exercise a bit of caution. I did accidentally push my luck a bit.
