During the winter of 2007, we had an unusually big snow pack .  The spring melt brought a lot of water and a near flood into Yosemite Valley.  The river overflowed its banks and caused this flooded meadow.  El Capitan ,behind, stands as a beautiful monument to the Valley at over 7000 feet high.
